How to clean an ocean?
The pollution of the
ocean is the biggest problem of the world
Boyan Slat project about
oceanic pollution is a relevant solution to face the problem.
His project is so important
because the ocean are polluted a little more every day. 269000 tons
of plastic garbage is on the ocean surface.
He wants to install a
gigantic floating barrier on the ocean to collect a lot of plastic
garbage. He wants to build this barrier since he has seen the garbage
patch in the Mediterranean sea. He would like to introduce the
gigantic floating barrier in the north Atlantic in real life in 2020.
The financing of this project
is a crowd funding. He has got 80.000$ to create his barrier. 70
scientists and engineers in the world work in this project. In the
beginning he didn't have a lot of sponsor for his project but in
March 2013 a ted talk conference has changed everything. In the
conference he talked about the ocean pollution and he present the
Boyan Slat project.
A lot of Marin species die
because of the garbage patch which is so imposing.
75% to 85% of the ocean
pollution comes from the earth.
The
ocean pollution destroys the sea life because fish is hampered by
with this plastic garbage and he die. The ocean is polluted a little
more every day. In the ocean each second 634000 tons of garbage are
rejected.
