Charlie Hebdo

The students in Cantal have worked on an assignment in English to put together some information about Charlie Hebdo and the terrorist attacks to share with their friends in Texas.

•Charlie Hebdo was created in 1970 by François Cavana and Georges Bernier.

•It's a satirical weekly paper with espacially drawings and satirical cartoons.

•It's a controversy paper because either we love it or we hate it.

The newspaper 'Charlie Hebdo' criticizes current events, religion, politics and society.

It's drawn and written by Luz, Cabu, Tignous, Wolinsky and Charb but there's a lot of other journalists involved.

Eight people died in the attack. It was the draftsmen Charb, Cabu, Honoré, Tignous, Wolinski, the economist Bernard Maris, the corrector Mustapha Ourrad and the psychoanalyst and commentator Elsa Cayat.

This drawing was supposed to be published on January 7th (date of attack).
